Faustos Roofing

We have a roof! Finally got the sheathing signed off and in an amazingly short amount of time, the roof just appeared. And by the look of the clouds not a minute too soon.

Ready for the Roof

We have put alot of work in the past few weeks trying to beat the monsoons coming. We failed. But, my pre-roof inspection is tomorrow, and the roofer comes Tuesday to stop the rain from entering our dining room!

If the roof gets put on Tuesday, we should have the door and windows in this week also.

Truss' Part Duex

Another Saturday of fun, Jim Acer, Ryan Keller, and Dave Charon were all suckered in to coming out to the house and putting in 5 hours of work. We got off to a slow start since we had trouble deciding on the best way to get the first truss placed. Once we got going though it went really well. We set 10 trusses in all, and laid alot of the ground work for the big truss which will hold up the load bearing wall which will be removed.

Setting Truss'

The Truss' showed up this week, and at the last minute, I decided to have a crane come out and set the bundle on the walls in order to save a lot of time and effort when we frame the roof. I figured it would be nice to do this for my crew that is doing the roof. (especially since the crew is unpaid!!!!)

Framing (First Half)

Framing finally started. Saturday June 14th, we had a large crew of about 8 guys come help raise the walls. Earl was the "boss man" for the day, and kept us working in the right direction. We raised the 27' wall first, then moved on to the 20' wall with the french doors, and finished the day with completing most of the other 20' wall which has two windows.
